The Five Factors
There are five weather variables that
affect a horse and should be taken into
consideration when deciding whether
or not to blanket. These are sun, rain,
wind, humidity and temperature.
Horses that are thin, young or older
tend to be less cold-tolerant and should
be blanketed. Horses that are body
