British photographer Colin Barker began his career in graphic
design and learned his trade in advertising. Even before he took
his first photograph, he had fallen under the spell of horses as a
child, where they were regular visitors to the saddlery next to his
home in North Essex, England.
Now living among the racing studs at the foot of the South
Downs in West Sussex, Colin works on a variety of location and
studio equine-associated commissions. His work was recently
featured at the National Sporting Library Museum in Virginia.
As a culmination of his personal photographic project to
promote awareness of the rare Caspian Horse, he was invited
to make a presentation of the completed collection of Caspian
prints to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace.
